Term ProjectChildren will develop their writing, oral, creative, critical thinking and metacognitive skills by working on a group project called: The Land of _______
Children, in groups of 4 will work with different materials and resources to create their own diorama/model of different landforms including but not limited to: rivers, oceans, mountains, lakes, streams, valleys, plateaus, volcanoes, islands, sand, rock etc. They will label each part. Children will have the opportunity to use different resources to gather information about their diorama including, powerpoints, books and videos. They will fill out additional paperwork in their project regarding characteristics, comparisons and information about their model. Prior to beginning their project, children will plan steps to follow, as well as organizing responsibilities. They will complete checklists upon their completion of the work and discuss things and steps that worked well for them and those that didn’t. The groups will be getting consistent feedback from the teacher in order to edit, change and make corrections. Children will also do a peer feedback with someone and give them information that may be useful to them during their project. |
